Hezbollah Member Killed in Israeli Airstrikes in Southern Lebanon

Beirut: A member of the Lebanese Hezbollah was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a car in southern Lebanon. The incident occurred in the area of Al-Tabbaleh, in the town of Khirbet Selm, resulting in injuries.

According to Nam News Network, an Israeli drone targeted the car with a guided missile yesterday afternoon. A Lebanese army intelligence source, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that the individual killed in the strike was a Hezbollah member, identified as Hassan Marouf Rahhal.

The report further detailed that the Israeli forces also demolished an uninhabited building on the outskirts of the village of Yaroun. The Israeli Defense Forces claimed that during an overnight operation, they dismantled a Hezbollah military structure in the village of Yaroun, near the border, which they perceived as a threat.

A ceasefire, brokered by the U.S. and France, has been in place since November 27, 2024, between Hezbollah and Israel. This ceasefire put an end to months of cross-border clashes that had erupted following the onset of the Gaza war.
