Hollick Clinches First DP World Tour Title in Munich, Chacarra Named European Swing Champion

Munich: Spain's Eugenio L³pez-Chacarra has been crowned the European Swing Champion in the current season's Race to Dubai on the DP World Tour. This achievement follows the conclusion of the BMW International Open, intensifying the competition among top golfers worldwide as they vie for spots in the season-ending playoffs set to occur in the UAE this November.

According to Emirates News Agency, despite Chacarra's early exit from the BMW International Open after just two rounds, his back-to-back victories at the Italian Open and the KLM Open secured his top position in the European Swing standings with a total of 1,328 points. He surpassed Japan's Kota Kaneko, who finished second with 831 points. As the European Swing Champion, Chacarra will receive a US$200,000 bonus and a spot in all events of the Back 9, the final nine tournaments leading into the DP World Tour Playoffs.

"It's amazing. There are a few goals we set for ourselves at the start of the year, and one of them was to win a Swing title, so I'm very proud of myself," Chacarra expressed.

Meanwhile, South Africa's Michael Hollick emerged victorious at the BMW International Open, which wrapped up on Sunday in Munich. This victory marks Hollick's first DP World Tour title. He concluded the tournament with an impressive eagle on the final hole, finishing at 18-under-par. This win awarded him 585 Race to Dubai points, elevating him to 25th place in the latest Race to Dubai Rankings with a total of 947 points.

The BMW International Open represents the 25th event of the season, encompassing 25 countries and 42 tournaments under the Race to Dubai banner. This week ushers in the Closing Swing on the DP World Tour, featuring the Genesis Scottish Open and the ISCO Championship in the United States.

The season-ending Playoffs will again be hosted in the UAE, with the top 70 players qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Championship at Yas Links from November 5th to 8th, 2026. Subsequently, the leading 50 players will advance to the DP World Tour Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates from November 12th to 15th, 2026.
