Iraq Rejects Aggression Towards Gulf States and Jordan

Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq affirmed on Thursday the government's rejection of any aggression or targeting of the Gulf states and Jordan, stressing that it is proceeding with the necessary measures to address all security challenges in accordance with the constitution and the law.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Ministry issued a statement through the Iraqi News Agency (INA), emphasizing Iraq's categorical rejection of any aggression against the Gulf Cooperation Council states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The statement highlighted that the security of these brotherly Arab states is an integral component of Iraq's national security, and regional stability is a shared interest for all its peoples.

The statement further reiterated Iraq's commitment to a balanced foreign policy, focused on building cooperative and respectful relations with regional and global countries. Iraq aims to work collaboratively to enhance security and stability, reduce tensions, and avoid further escalation, aligning with common interests.

The Ministry affirmed that the Iraqi government is taking necessary measures to address security challenges in line with constitutional and legal frameworks. Iraqi security forces are actively coordinating with counterparts in friendly and neighboring countries, showing readiness to receive information or evidence related to attacks launched from Iraqi territory and addressing such issues responsibly and swiftly.

The statement underscored Iraq's firm stance against using its territory for attacks on other countries. The government is committed to preserving Iraq's sovereignty, strengthening fraternal relations, and preventing any actions that could jeopardize regional security and stability.

Furthermore, the Iraqi government maintains ongoing communication with sister countries to support initiatives and efforts aimed at halting conflict, encouraging diplomatic solutions, and promoting political dialogue. Such actions are intended to mitigate harm to regional peoples and economies while achieving security and stability for all involved.
