Beirut: Several Lebanese military personnel, including an officer, were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a military vehicle on the Khardali-Nabatieh road in south Lebanon, the Lebanese Army said in a statement on Saturday.
According to Emirates News Agency, a Lebanese Army officer holding the rank of brigadier general and his driver were killed in an airstrike that targeted his four-wheel-drive vehicle on the Khardali-Jarmaq road. Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported this tragic incident, highlighting the ongoing tensions in the region.
The agency also reported a separate drone strike targeting the Al Khalla area in the town of Jouaya in Tyre district. These strikes add to the series of attacks that have been occurring despite a ceasefire initially announced on April 16 and extended twice since then.
Israeli strikes have persisted across parts of southern Lebanon, raising concerns about the stability and safety of the region. The impact of these continued attacks on the local population and military personnel remains significant.
