JERUSALEM: Israeli occupation forces today demolished a part of a Palestinian-owned house in Al-Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan, south of the occupied Jerusalem, citing unpermitted construction as a pretext. Sources said that Israeli municipality crews, accompanied by large numbers of police officers, raided Al-Bustan neighborhood in the town of Silwan, where they demolished a room in the house owned by a local resident under the pretext that it was built without a permit. Under the pretext of building without a permit, which is rarely granted to Palestinians in the occupied city, the Israeli municipality has been demolishing or forcing Palestinians to demolish their own houses as part of a policy aimed at restricting Palestinian expansion in the occupied Jerusalem.
