Dubai: Italy's Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek clinched the victory in stage 5 of the UAE Tour 2026, known as the Dubai Stage. He outpaced Erlend Blikra from Uno-X Mobility and Matteo Malucelli of XDS Astana Team in a competitive sprint finish.
According to Emirates News Agency, Antonio Tiberi of Bahrain Victorious maintained his lead in the General Classification, holding onto the Red Jersey. Milan completed the 168km stage in a time of 3 hours, 33 minutes, and 18 seconds, achieving an average speed of 47.257 km/h. Erlend Blikra and Matteo Malucelli finished with the same time as Milan, showcasing a closely contested race.
In the overall standings, Antonio Tiberi continues to lead, closely followed by Isaac Del Toro of UAE Team Emirates XRG, who trails by 21 seconds. Speaking immediately after the race, Milan expressed satisfaction with his performance, stating that he aimed to deliver a significant result after the hard work of his teammates. Reflecting on his experience from last year, he emphasized the importance of positioning in the final stretches of the race. Milan also shared his anticipation for the upcoming stages, expressing hope for another victory on Sunday.
