Jawaher Al Qasimi Witnesses Launch of ‘Precious Heart’ Jewellery Collection to Fund Global Humanitarian Projects

Sharjah: H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Irthi Contemporary Crafts Council (Irthi) and The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), attended the unveiling of the 'Precious Heart' jewellery collection, a collaboration between Irthi, TBHF, and British luxury jeweller Asprey. The proceeds from this collection will be fully dedicated to supporting TBHF's projects for refugees, displaced individuals, and vulnerable communities worldwide. According to Emirates News Agency, the collection draws inspiration from Emirati Talli craft and comprises 20 pieces crafted from high-purity imperial jadeite, valued at approximately £9.7 million. This rare jade, known for its rich emerald-green color, is complemented by diamonds, amethysts, and natural pearls, all set in 18-karat gold. The assortment includes rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, anklets, and beaded jadeite necklaces. H.H. Sheikha Jawaher emphasized Sharjah's commitment, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qas imi, to foster organizations that go beyond administrative functions, focusing on projects rooted in values and reflecting the emirate's culture of giving and cooperation. She stated the importance of pairing beauty-focused initiatives with charitable causes, establishing a culture that addresses global challenges and contributes to a just and compassionate future. The partnership between Irthi, TBHF, and Asprey embodies the synergy of heritage, humanitarian responsibility, and design excellence, creating a unique initiative in the 'Precious Heart' collection. The collection serves as a testament to art's role as both an empowerment tool and a goodwill instrument. A silent charity auction for the collection was also launched at The Chedi Al Bait Hotel in Sharjah, running until May 19. It provides an opportunity to acquire limited-edition pieces that combine Asprey's craftsmanship with the UAE's cultural identity and a humanitarian mission. The collaboration agreement was signed in London in 2024, establishing a model for partnerships between craft organizations, humanitarian entities, and luxury brands to support noble causes. Asprey contributed 1,000 grams of high-purity jadeite, which exceeded initial expectations by producing 20 pieces due to its exceptional clarity, enhancing the collection's value. John Rigas, CEO of Asprey, expressed pride in aligning with Irthi and TBHF, emphasizing shared values of sustainability, craftsmanship, and humanitarian service. Reem BinKaram, Director General of Irthi, highlighted H.H. Sheikha Jawaher's leadership in extending the council's global reach and impact, using art as a universal language to empower communities. Alya Obaid Al Musaiebi, Director of TBHF, underscored the importance of sustainable humanitarian work, with the TBHF, Asprey, and Irthi partnership serving as a model for resource mobilization and investment in art and craftsmanship for humanity.
