Abu dhabi: The Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Trkiye, Egypt, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar have jointly condemned the Israeli actions at Al Aqsa Mosque / Al Haram Al Sharif. They criticized the mass incursions by settlers, led by extremist Israeli ministers, and called it a violation of international law.
According to Emirates News Agency, the ministers expressed strong disapproval of the provocative actions, which they say violate United Nations resolutions and disrupt the historical and legal status quo of the holy sites in East Jerusalem. They stressed that such actions fuel hatred and obstruct peace efforts aimed at a two-state solution.
The statement highlighted the restrictions on access to the Old City of Jerusalem as a violation of international law, including international humanitarian law. It emphasized that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or its holy sites.
The ministers reiterated their rejection of attempts to alter the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and emphasized the special role of Hashemite custodianship. They affirmed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims and called on Israel to remove access restrictions.
Lastly, the ministers urged the international community to take a firm stance against Israel's ongoing violations and illegal practices at holy sites in Jerusalem.
