Abu dhabi: Jordan's industrial production index experienced a notable rise of 1.22% in July 2026, compared to the same month in 2025, and saw an increase of 4.61% from June, as reported by the Department of Statistics.
According to Emirates News Agency, the industrial production index for the first seven months of 2026 showed a slight year-on-year increase of 0.21%, reaching 88.53 compared to 88.35 during the corresponding period in 2025. In July alone, the index was recorded at 92.96, up from 91.83 in July 2025 and 88.86 in June 2026, as reported by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), referencing official data.
The manufacturing output for the January to July period marked an increase of 0.27%, with the manufacturing sector holding a significant relative weight of 88.7% in the index. Meanwhile, electricity production, which constitutes a 5.9% relative weight, grew by 1.90%, whereas the output in extractive industries, accounting for a 5.4% relative weight, decreased by 2.11%.
On a year-on-year basis, the growth in July was attributed to a 2.01% rise in manufacturing output and a marginal 0.02% increase in electricity production. However, the extractive industries output saw a substantial decline of 9.76%. Compared to June 2026, there was a 4.29% increase in manufacturing output and a significant 17.06% rise in electricity production, while extractive industries experienced a 2.79% decrease.
