Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Advocates for Expansion of Community Hubs in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has visited the Nabdh Al Falah community hub in the Al Falah area of Abu Dhabi. The hub, overseen by the Department of Community Development - Abu Dhabi (DCD), represents a novel model for integrated community centers, aligning with the declaration of 2025 as the Year of Community by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed toured the facilities at the hub, receiving briefings on its initiatives and projects such as Majlisna, which revives traditional Emirati social gatherings, and various recreational projects developed by the Department of Municipalities and Transport - Abu Dhabi. The Abu Dhabi Gaming initiative, led by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, was also reviewed during the visit.

During his visit, H.H. Sheikh Khaled directed the expansion of comprehensive community hubs across Abu Dhabi. These hubs aim to enhance social wellbeing by offering high-quality programs that address community needs and create interactive spaces to strengthen social cohesion. Engaging with community members to understand their aspirations and needs was emphasized to reinforce social bonds and support sustainable community development.

The hub's facilities and programs, developed with public, private, and third-sector entities, cater to children, youth, families, and senior citizens. H.H. Sheikh Khaled highlighted the importance of empowering young people by nurturing their skills and capabilities, contributing to Abu Dhabi's innovation-driven, knowledge-based economy.

The visit reinforced the leadership's commitment to fostering a socially connected and inclusive environment. This aligns with the Year of Community initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to encourage greater participation and shared responsibility among community members. H.H. Sheikh Khaled emphasized the role of Nabdh Al Falah and similar hubs in providing diverse social services aligned with global best practices.

Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of DCD, stated that the inauguration of Nabdh Al Falah represents a milestone in integrated community hubs, advancing Abu Dhabi's efforts to improve quality of life across community segments. The hub embodies the leadership's vision of promoting social participation and enhancing community cohesion.

Mohamed Helal Al Balooshi, Executive Director of the Community Engagement and Sports Sector at DCD, highlighted that Nabdh community hubs will serve as multi-purpose destinations, reflecting Abu Dhabi's vision for a socially connected society. The hub is equipped with facilities promoting healthy lifestyles, including sports fields and walking tracks.

In its early months, the hub will offer over 145 programs in collaboration with more than 38 entities, covering fields such as Social and Recreational, Sports and Wellbeing, Learning and Skill Development, Social Support, and Culture and National Identity.

During the visit, H.H. Sheikh Khaled was accompanied by several key figures, including Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Chairman of the Department of Community Development - Abu Dhabi, and Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport.
