Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Attends Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit

Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, attended the Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit (ADIS), organized by the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre. The summit, themed Future Cities: Rethinking Infrastructure for Better Lifestyles, spanned two days.

According to Emirates News Agency, during a tour of the ADIS exhibition, H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed reviewed global innovations and technologies in sustainable infrastructure. Over 25 entities participated, showcasing best practices in smart urban planning and sustainability-driven approaches aimed at improving community quality of life.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed emphasized the importance of using advanced technologies in urban planning to ensure sustainable infrastructure that aligns with the aspirations of present and future generations. The focus is on investing in integrated, future-ready infrastructure, including facilities powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and smart solutions.

During the summit, the Department of Municipalities and Transport unveiled its AI-powered Binaa platform, designed to streamline the construction permitting process. The platform reduces transaction processing times by up to 70 percent, allowing permits to be issued within 24 hours. It also identifies over-designs to reduce redundancy and environmental impacts. Over 15 government entities can access a unified platform for blueprints and relevant documents.

The summit drew over 2,000 experts, engineers, urban planners, decision-makers, officials, and international organization representatives. Attendees engaged in panel discussions focused on sustainability and innovation in modern city infrastructure development.

ADPIC showcased strategic initiatives to create an integrated urban environment, improving community well-being across Abu Dhabi. ADPIC oversees over 600 projects valued at more than AED200 billion, spanning housing, public parks, education, tourism, and other vital services, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's global leadership in infrastructure quality.

H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed was accompanied by Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Finance - Abu Dhabi; Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Department of Municipalities and Transport; Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Office of the Crown Prince; and Eng. Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre.
