Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, has attended the graduation ceremony of the inaugural cohort of Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy held at ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, celebrating 194 graduates.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Khaled congratulated the graduates and their families, wishing them success in their academic and professional journeys. He reaffirmed their role in advancing the maritime transport and logistics sector in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. He highlighted the importance of the Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy in preparing national talent, including maritime specialists and logistics engineers, to drive sustainable growth in the industry.
Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, Chairman of AD Ports Group, expressed pride in Sheikh Khaled's attendance, noting it as a milestone for the UAE's maritime sector. He emphasized the academy's role in graduating skilled talents ready to tackle future challenges and its contribution to research and development in the maritime sector.
Dr. Yasser Al Wahedi, President of Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, remarked on the academy's achievement in providing certified professionals to the UAE maritime industry. He praised the first graduating class for their commitment and wished them success in their future roles in the global maritime industry.
The Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, part of AD Ports Group, was established in 2019 and began receiving students in 2021. It offers a comprehensive range of maritime education and training programs across eight core academic tracks and currently hosts 410 students, with 85 percent being UAE Nationals.
The academy provides diploma certifications in 13 maritime and logistics specializations and offers various technical and accredited programs. In under four years, it has become a key contributor to maritime education in the Gulf, offering extensive training and development programs and engaging in significant research and consultancy projects.
