Latifa Bint Mohammed Engages with Egyptian Culture Minister on Museum Collaboration

Dubai: H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with Dr. Ahmed Fouad Henni, Egyptian Minister of Culture, during the 27th General Conference of the International Council of Museums (ICOM Dubai 2025).

According to Emirates News Agency, the conference, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, marked its first occurrence in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia, hosted by Dubai. The meeting was also attended by Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State; Hala Badri, Director-General of Dubai Culture and Chairperson of the ICOM Dubai 2025 Organising Committee; and Muna Faisal Al Gurg, CEO of the Museums and Heritage Sector at Dubai Culture.

H.H. Sheikha Latifa extended her congratulations to the Egyptian Minister on the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, highlighting its role as a leading cultural and civilisational landmark. She stressed the museum's evolution beyond a mere collection of artefacts, underscoring its significance as a hub for cultural dialogue, research, and education.

Sheikha Latifa remarked that the museum sets a new standard for cultural institutions, serving as a global platform for intercultural exchange and solidifying Egypt's status as a protector of humanity's shared heritage and a repository of knowledge for future generations.

The discussions also opened up possibilities for cultural collaboration between Dubai and Egypt, focusing on partnerships in museums, arts, and heritage, as well as sharing expertise in antiquities preservation.

Both parties emphasized the necessity of enhancing knowledge exchange between cultural entities to emphasize culture's essential role in fostering understanding between societies and nations.
