Latifa bint Mohammed Highlights Arabic Language’s Role in Cultural Heritage

Dubai: H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, has articulated the significance of World Arabic Language Day, viewing it as a pivotal occasion to renew appreciation for the Arabic language. She stressed the language's role as a vessel of knowledge across generations and its influence in shaping one of the most prominent civilisations in history.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed affirmed that the Arabic language is a testament to the intellectual depth of the Arab world and its contributions to human progress. This year's World Arabic Language Day, themed 'Innovative Pathways for Arabic: Policies and Practices for a More Inclusive Linguistic Future', highlights the continued evolution of the language.

Sheikha Latifa stated, "The Arabic language reflects our identity and forms the foundation of our culture. Through it, scholars shared discoveries, poets expressed their visions, writers told their stories, and thinkers conveyed ideas that transcended time and place." She noted that the linguistic depth and richness of Arabic have enabled it to remain adaptable and responsive to global transformations.

Emphasizing the necessity of empowering the Arabic language, Sheikha Latifa called for strengthening its presence in education and media. She highlighted that supporting the language is a collective national duty that requires coordinated and sustained efforts to maintain its relevance and vitality on both local and international stages.
