Lavender fields in Brihuega…natural paintings for nature, flower lovers

During summer every year, the fields of Brihuega town are covered with a fragrant purple color, making it the lavender capital of Spain.

Brihuega is located in Gaudalajara at Castilla-La Mancha province, with lavender fields exceeding 1,000 hectares and providing about 10 percent of the global production of lavender oil used in perfume industry.

Tourists go to the town, which is an hour away from the capital Madrid, in July every year, to see picturesque fields, attend an annual concert held there and get to know the ancient town that was built by Muslims.
