A delegation from the GNU-Ministry of Local Government participated in the Arab meeting to discuss disaster risk reduction, which was held in Egypt and attended by representatives from Arab countries. The meeting discussed the evaluation of the efforts made in the previous meeting held in Morocco and highlighted the challenges facing the implementation of strategic plans for disaster reduction, such as a lack of resources. The participants stressed the importance of cooperation between Arab countries and unifying efforts to address these challenges and proposed to establish national committees in each country to supervise disaster reduction programs and develop effective mechanisms for prevention and preparedness to confront future disasters.
