Dubai:Light + Intelligent Building Middle East is commemorating its 20th edition by emphasizing the increasing significance of interconnected systems in creating smarter and more sustainable environments. Organized by Messe Frankfurt Middle East, the annual trade show will take place from January 12-14, 2027, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, featuring innovations that transform how spaces are connected, controlled, illuminated, and experienced.
According to Wam, after two decades as the region's hub for lighting and building technology, the Dubai-based event showcases the collaboration of technologies that previously operated independently. These advancements are now working together to enhance building performance, occupant comfort, and create more responsive environments.
Abdul Muhsin, Event Director for Light + Intelligent Building Middle East, stated that the show reflects the industry's evolution towards connected and experience-driven spaces. These spaces integrate lighting, building automation, and AI-driven technologies into energy-efficient ecosystems. As lighting becomes a crucial component of green buildings and smart cities, it will continue to illuminate spaces and guide the path towards a more sustainable and intelligent world.
The event is co-located with Intersec Global and will cover various sectors, including Smart Home and Building Automation, Architectural and Decorative Lighting, Electrical Engineering, and more. It aims to connect global solution providers with key decision-makers across the Middle East and Africa, emphasizing the need for integrated building solutions in smart urban infrastructure and mixed-use communities.
The event will feature conferences and knowledge exchanges, with thought leaders discussing sustainability and future-ready architectural design. THINKLIGHT and the Smart Building Summit will facilitate high-level dialogues and discussions on the future of smarter, greener buildings. The InSpotlight Stage will host product launches and presentations, including a live session for the Light Middle East Awards 2027.
Nathan Waugh, Portfolio Director at Messe Frankfurt Middle East, highlighted that the 2027 edition will demonstrate the convergence of built environments. By expanding platforms like THINKLIGHT and the Smart Building Summit, the event provides opportunities for global manufacturers and solution providers to engage with regional developers and decision-makers.
