Abu Dhabi:Lockheed Martin celebrated the graduation of 57 interns from its Centre for Innovation and Security Solutions (CISS) programme at a ceremony in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.
According to Emirates News Agency, the ceremony was hosted by Dan Mouton, Lockheed Martin's Vice President and Chief Executive for the Middle East, alongside CISS Manager Hala Majeed and the centre's leadership team. It was attended by senior representatives from government, industry, academia, and the diplomatic community.
During the ceremony, the graduates presented four projects developed with Lockheed Martin engineers in areas such as AI, modelling, and simulation. These projects included Artificial Intelligence for Operations (AI Ops), Modelling and Simulation (ModSim), Gearbox Artificial Intelligence Tool (GAIT), and OV-1 Interactive, each designed to enhance efficiency and capabilities in various operational domains.
Hala Majeed highlighted the UAE's ambition to develop advanced industries by nurturing technical skills and practical experience. She emphasized that the CISS programme bridges the gap between academic learning and industry, preparing future engineers, scientists, and technology leaders to support the UAE's growth.
CISS, established in 2014, focuses on practical projects that align with the UAE's national priorities, providing hands-on training and mentorship. Since its internship programme began in 2017, CISS has graduated more than 350 students in advanced STEM disciplines. Thirty alumni attended this year's ceremony, representing the broader network of CISS graduates contributing to government and industry sectors across the UAE.
