Louvre Abu Dhabi Launches Series of Weekly Workshops and Guided Tours

Abu dhabi: Louvre Abu Dhabi has initiated a series of weekly workshops and daily expert-led guided tours, providing visitors with unique opportunities to explore its vast collection and exhibitions. These offerings include newly launched tours alongside ongoing thematic tours, promising fresh insights into the museum's galleries and exhibitions.

According to Emirates News Agency, the tours are designed for art enthusiasts and curious minds, offering insights into art history, cultural dialogue, and ideas guided by knowledgeable museum educators. The programme is an invitation to experience Louvre Abu Dhabi in new ways, with complimentary workshops and tours scheduled to run until the end of June.

One of the highlights is the "Drawing at the Museum" session, which encourages participants to enhance their observational drawing skills. This immersive, educator-led session begins with a 30-minute introduction to a focused drawing technique, followed by 90 minutes of guided drawing from selected artworks in the museum's collection.

Additionally, the museum hosts a series of Storytelling Tours, each with a unique focus. The "UAE-Inspired" tour on Tuesdays highlights Emirati cultural identity through objects found in the UAE, including a contemporary work by Giuseppe Penone. The "Take Me to Asia" tour on Wednesdays explores Asian art's richness, featuring the Winged Dragon sculpture from North China. On Thursdays, the "Women in Art" tour delves into the representation of women across cultures and time periods, while Fridays are dedicated to "Islamic Art Motifs," featuring key Islamic artworks such as the Monumental Lion.

Saturdays introduce a thematic visit "From the Philippines," showcasing artworks on loan from the nation, including Juan Luna's painting Una Bulaque±a. Sundays are reserved for exploring "Animals in Art," examining how animals have been depicted across cultures and time periods.

The "Discover Louvre Abu Dhabi" guided tour offers a daily introduction to the museum's collection, highlighting shared human stories and connections from ancient to modern artworks. Additionally, the "Picasso, the Figure" tour allows visitors to explore Pablo Picasso's transformations of the human figure throughout his artistic career.

These curated experiences aim to offer fresh perspectives and deeper understanding of the artworks, enhancing the cultural enrichment for visitors to the Louvre Abu Dhabi.
