Paris: An earthquake of magnitude 5.93 struck off the coast of Costa Rica early on Wednesday, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said. The quake hit at 06:56 GMT at a depth of 18 kilometres, GFZ added.

The earthquake occurred offshore, reducing the potential for significant damage on land, though monitoring continues for any aftershocks or changes in local conditions.
