Abu dhabi: The Make-A-Wish Foundation announced the successful conclusion of the eighth edition of the 'Make-A-Wish Run' on Al Hudayriyat Island in Abu Dhabi, which attracted over 1,300 participants from various age groups.
According to Emirates News Agency, the event was held under the patronage of Sheikha Sheikha bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the wife of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, who is the Advisor to His Highness the UAE President and Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The run was attended by Sheikh Khalifa bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan and other senior dignitaries.
The main strategic partner for this edition was the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, which provided substantial support and saw significant participation from its employees. The event's proceeds were dedicated to aiding children with critical illnesses by fulfilling their wishes and supporting their treatment.
Hani Al Zubaidi, Chief Executive Officer of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, expressed gratitude to Sheikha Sheikha bint Saif bin Mohammed Al Nahyan for her support and guidance. He emphasized that her patronage is crucial to the initiative's sustainability. Al Zubaidi also remarked that the 'Make-A-Wish Run' is now a significant annual event, valued for its direct humanitarian impact and its ability to transform hope into reality, bringing joy to children and their families.
