Maktoum Bin Mohammed Engages with City Makers Initiative Leaders

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, recently convened with leaders from government teams involved in the City Makers initiative, spearheaded by the General Secretariat of The Executive Council of Dubai. During the discussion, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum evaluated advancements in public service improvements aimed at elevating the quality of life and reinforcing Dubai's stature as a leading global city.

According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum reiterated the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, which prioritizes people-centric governance in Dubai. The meeting underscored the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, in fostering a cohesive team spirit that has facilitated the development of services promoting community well-being, accelerated sustainable growth, and supported the objectives set forth in the Dubai 2033 Plan.

H.H. Sheikh Maktoum emphasized the Government of Dubai's commitment to operating as a unified entity, offering a global exemplar of the whole-of-government approach. The focus remains on anticipating and surpassing public aspirations through innovative, integrated services that meet current needs while opening avenues for sustainable economic and social development.

He expressed a personal commitment to supervising service enhancements across the emirate, ensuring Dubai's leadership in public service excellence. Emphasizing a people-centered approach, he highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts, programs, and initiatives across all governmental entities.

H.H. Sheikh Maktoum noted continuous monitoring of public service development to ensure equal benefits for all citizens, residents, and visitors. The ambition is to position Dubai as a leader in service quality and innovation, driving economic and social progress to unprecedented levels.

He also commended the dedication of government teams tirelessly working to serve the community. Their contributions have a lasting positive impact on people's lives, enhance community welfare, and bolster Dubai's competitive edge.

Dubai's public service development mirrors its remarkable growth, with a population exceeding four million and Dubai International Airport welcoming 93.8 million passengers in the 12 months ending September 2025, ranking it among the world's top three travel hubs in the fourth quarter of 2025. This progress results from the collective efforts of the government, involving individuals, institutions, and sectors across society, ensuring Dubai's continued global leadership.

The City Makers Initiative targets service development in critical areas delivering concrete community benefits, including social, health, and empowerment programs, initiatives reinforcing values and cultural identity protection, and partnerships supporting readiness through high-quality public services.
