Mansour and Hazza bin Zayed Witness Launch of 2nd Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition in Al Ain

Al ain: His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, along with H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, attended the inauguration of the second edition of the Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition (EACE) 2026. The event is scheduled to run in Al Ain from April 22 to 26.

According to Emirates News Agency, Their Highnesses toured the exhibition's pavilions, reviewing the latest advancements in modern agriculture designed to enhance the efficiency of local agricultural production. The exhibition highlighted several national companies showcasing innovative solutions to address climate challenges in desert environments and companies specializing in advanced food industries. This initiative aligns with the UAE's broader efforts to create an agricultural model that is resilient and adaptable to environmental changes, ultimately contributing to strengthened food security.

Their Highnesses also visited zones dedicated to universities and startups, where they reviewed key projects aimed at empowering youth and fostering innovation in the agricultural sector. These zones included the Private Sector Zone and the Government Entities Zone, which presented initiatives and legislation designed to support farmers and drive sector development. Additionally, the 'Farmers' Market' displayed a variety of local crops, beekeepers' products, and products made from locally grown dates.

For the first time, the event featured two pavilions dedicated to Emirati women farmers and young farmers within the Farmers' Market. A livestock owners' tent showcased the finest breeds of livestock, and marine wealth platforms were introduced as new additions.

His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized that the agricultural sector in the UAE is experiencing development driven by leadership's vision, which places food security as a priority. He noted that adopting modern agricultural technologies and enhancing innovation contribute to raising agricultural production efficiency and achieving sustainability. He also highlighted the importance of supporting and empowering farmers to enhance the competitiveness of local products in regional and international markets.

H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed appreciation for initiatives that advance the domestic agricultural sector and create incentives for farmers to develop their practices. This aligns with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who prioritizes the agricultural sector as a key area for investment and production, thereby supporting comprehensive development in the UAE.

Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, announced the launch of 'The National Project for UAE Good Agricultural Practices UAE GAP' during a keynote speech at the conference. This initiative aims to guarantee the quality and competitiveness of national crops in international markets, with a strategic target of 80% of local farms obtaining global certification. This effort aligns with the UAE's focus on enhancing sustainable food security through national standards aligned with global specifications.

The Minister highlighted that the UAE's food security remains a strategic priority, emphasizing the importance of a resilient agricultural system to address global challenges and supply chain disruptions. She pointed out that artificial intelligence and data are shaping the future of agriculture, enhancing resource sustainability and production efficiency.

The exhibition offers visitors a comprehensive experience across four main tracks: the Farmers' Track, the Educational Track, the Community Track, and the Business and Young Entrepreneurs' track. It serves as a cultural and community hub, fostering collaboration between generations and promoting sustainability practices through interactive workshops.
