MBRF and UNDP to Host Youth Knowledge Forum in Cairo to Propel Knowledge Economy

Cairo: The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are set to jointly organize the fourth edition of the 'Youth Knowledge Forum' (YKF) in Cairo, Egypt, from July 20 to 21, 2025. The event, themed 'Knowledge Economy and Human Development,' is in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS).

According to Emirates News Agency, YKF aims to foster innovation and enhance the role of youth in advancing knowledge-based development. The forum serves as an intellectual platform where youth and decision-makers from various sectors can exchange insights and explore solutions to current challenges. Its focus is on bolstering the knowledge economy, supporting entrepreneurship, equipping youth with future-ready skills, and fostering regional and international cooperation among stakeholders invested in youth empowerment.

The event builds on the previous successes achieved by MBRF and MOYS, further reflecting MOYS's commitment to empowering Egyptian youth. Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, emphasized Egypt's commitment to supporting youth, positioning them as a key pillar in building the New Republic. He praised the partnership between MBRF and UNDP as a testament to Arab and international cooperation in youth empowerment and human development.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, highlighted the forum's role in positioning youth as contributors to a sustainable future. He stated that the forum aims to enhance the youth's ability to address future challenges by providing them with essential tools and inspiring them to drive social change through knowledge application.

Ghimar Deeb, Acting Resident Representative of UNDP in Egypt, noted the importance of empowering youth in the transition towards a knowledge-based economy. UNDP Egypt supports initiatives that strengthen youth capacities in digital transformation, entrepreneurship, and the green economy, ensuring their meaningful contribution to sustainable development.

YKF will feature panel discussions and dialogues on public and development policies related to the knowledge economy. It will address challenges such as misinformation in the digital age, the role of digital media, entrepreneurship obstacles, and AI's impact on the job market. The forum will conclude with a youth open dialogue, providing a platform for youth to share challenges and aspirations, reinforcing a culture of dialogue and lifelong learning.

The event underscores MBRF and UNDP's commitment to strengthening knowledge cooperation among Arab nations, presenting a model for youth empowerment and creating a positive impact across all sectors.
