Dubai: The Ministry of Community Empowerment and the Ministry of Economy and Tourism have commenced a training initiative aimed at empowering 50 Emirati entrepreneurs as part of the Entrepreneurs from Emirati Families programme. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the New Economy Academy and partnered with Majra - the National CSR Fund, Emirates Foundation, and Neol, is an integral part of the Year of Family initiatives.
According to Emirates News Agency, the programme is a component of 'The Emirates: The Startup Capital of the World' national campaign, inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. The initiative's objective is to train and qualify 1,000 entrepreneurs from Emirati families over five years, averaging 200 trainees annually, to convert their skills into successful businesses.
The programme will be conducted by top experts and consultants specializing in entrepreneurship, self-development, economy, finance, and technology. Initial themes include entrepreneurship in tourism, agriculture, agrotech, food industries, tech-based financial services, and transport services.
Shamma bint Sohail Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment, emphasized the strategic vision of the ministry to foster an environment conducive to social and economic innovation. The programme aims to empower Emirati families by turning their ambitions into competitive businesses, ensuring social and economic stability through self-sufficiency.
Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, highlighted the programme as a cornerstone of the national strategy to transform human capital into productive economic drivers. The initiative aims to build an ecosystem of empowerment and training to support national projects and foster self-sufficiency, enabling families to become integral economic partners.
The programme includes various themes such as entrepreneurship fundamentals, business model development, market validation, competitor analysis, revenue models, go-to-market strategies, financial systems, business setup planning, and marketing skills.
