Amman: Colonel Staff Ali Saif Al Kaabi, the UAE's Defence Attach© in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, along with a military delegation from the UAE Military Attach© Office in Amman, today extended their condolences in the town of Al Khalidiya, Mafraq Governorate, on the passing of Lieutenant General Awad Mohammed Al Khalidi. Al Khalidi, the first Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, passed away last Friday, leaving behind a notable legacy in defence, security, and diplomacy.
According to Emirates News Agency, the delegation conveyed the heartfelt condolences and sympathy of the leadership, government, and people of the United Arab Emirates to His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, as well as to the bereaved family. They prayed for Almighty God to grant the deceased His mercy.
Lieutenant General Awad Mohammed Al Khalidi was a pioneering figure among Arab military leaders, playing a crucial role in the establishment and development of defence and security institutions across the region. Throughout his career, he served as an officer, a military commander, a minister, and an ambassador, consistently demonstrating loyalty, dedication, and professional competence.
