Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Foreign Trade has signed an agreement with Abu Dhabi-based AI solutions provider Presight, a G42 company, to build the Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform. This platform is a suite of AI-powered trade tools aimed at facilitating smarter and faster foreign trade, thereby consolidating the UAE's status as a global trade leader. The signing of the agreement was attended by Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs.
According to Emirates News Agency, the platform will be integrated across all core functions of the Ministry of Foreign Trade as it aims to become the world's first AI-driven trade ministry. The platform is designed to analyze millions of data points from a variety of sources including ports, shipping routes, international laws, trade deals, and customs records in real time. This will provide detailed intelligence to both public and private sector actors, enabling them to forecast potential trade disruptions and identify new growth opportunities.
The intelligence provided by the platform will assist businesses in understanding rules, regulations, and market access requirements across different jurisdictions. It will also offer AI-driven services such as smart certificates of origin for traders. The Ministry will benefit from enhanced data analysis capacity, which will support policymaking and the negotiation of advantageous trade deals.
The Ministry of Foreign Trade AI Platform is one of the eight strategic pillars of the UAE Global Centre of Trade programme. This initiative was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, in November last year. Its goal is to strengthen the UAE's position as a global gateway for goods and services, accelerate national targets for foreign trade, and open new markets for UAE exports.
Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, highlighted the significance of the signing as part of the Ministry's agenda. He stated that the UAE has long recognized the potential of artificial intelligence to transform the economy and drive new efficiencies and capabilities. He emphasized that AI has an immediate impact on trade by replacing human-centered processes with real-time data analysis and forecasting, which accelerates merchandise movements, reduces disruptions, and identifies high-potential opportunities.
Mansoor Al Mansoori, Vice Chairman of Presight, noted that the Ministry of Foreign Trade's new AI Platform will support the UAE's leadership in international supply chains. He stated that economies that can see early and move fast will own the future of trade. By providing real-time insights to decision-makers, the platform reduces friction, compresses timelines, and helps governments and businesses operate confidently.
Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight, stated that the partnership is proof that the UAE is at the forefront of AI deployment. He highlighted the significance of this collaboration not just for Presight and the Ministry of Foreign Trade, but for the global trading system. He mentioned that the solutions will deliver operational efficiencies that can unlock a new era of seamless global trade by removing frictions and disruptions and matching demand with supply instantaneously.
The UAE Global Centre of Trade is a suite of initiatives launched in November 2025. It aims to build on the nation's successful foreign trade agenda by increasing non-oil exports, attracting international trading and manufacturing companies, empowering exporters with new technologies, and identifying new market opportunities globally.
