Dubai: As part of the Year of the Community initiatives, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has announced the launch of 'We Are Your Support', a package of initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for senior citizens and residents.
According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative includes a range of essential services, such as the National Housing Specifications Guide for Senior Citizens, free housing design options through the 'Darak' platform, and voluntary engineering consultations in energy, electricity, design, and construction under the 'Aounkom' initiative. The ministry has appointed experienced advisors at service centres in Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, who are equipped with strong interpersonal communication skills and fluency in local dialects.
The initiative also provides flexible solutions respecting the lifestyles of elderly individuals, including the 'Leen Babek' service, which allows women to complete transactions from home, and enhanced mobility support for men. Additionally, the 'Golden Counter' offers priority service at centres, and awareness workshops are being introduced to help the elderly become familiar with digital services.
Sharif Al Olama, Under-Secretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, stated that this initiative reflects the UAE leadership's directives to improve the quality of life for all, particularly senior citizens and residents. He emphasized that serving the elderly is both a duty and a privilege, aiming to provide an exceptional service experience aligned with the UAE Government's human-centred service principles.
