Abu dhabi: Dr. Sultan Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs, presided over the International Youth Day activities at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) headquarters in Abu Dhabi, marking the inauguration of the first youth space at the federal government level. The event was a significant step towards enhancing youth engagement and empowerment within government initiatives.
According to Emirates News Agency, the gathering was attended by senior MoI officials, police leaders, and representatives from various youth organizations. The event commenced with a speech that underscored the UAE leadership's dedication to empowering the youth and the MoI's commitment to developing their skills, as directed by H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior.
The ceremony highlighted the achievements of the MoI Youth Council, celebrating the graduation of the first batch of the Nucleus of the Future programme. This six-month initiative is designed to train Emiratis for careers in security and policing. Additionally, five youth-led projects were recognized under the Nabras Al Shabab initiative, showcasing the innovative potential of Emirati youth.
Dr. Al Neyadi explored various exhibits that showcased current and future projects of the council, such as the Exceptional Leader project at the Police College and the Young Leaders programme. These initiatives aim to foster leadership skills and career readiness among young Emiratis.
The newly inaugurated youth space, accredited by the Federal Youth Authority, is intended to boost youth participation in decision-making processes, foster innovation, and provide a venue for workshops, events, and brainstorming sessions. It stands as the first of its kind across federal ministries and entities, representing a pioneering effort in youth engagement.
The event concluded with a youth panel discussion hosted by the MoI Youth Council, serving as a forum for dialogue and exchange of ideas in celebration of International Youth Day.
