Municipal Affairs and BEEAH Collaborate to Launch New Waste Management Complex

Al dhaid: Engineer Hussein Al Mazmi, Director of the Municipal Services Regulation Department at the Department of Municipal Affairs, announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with BEEAH and the municipalities of the Central and Eastern Region cities to establish an integrated waste management complex in the Maghsa area of Al Dhaid. This initiative marks a significant development aimed at serving seven municipalities across the emirate and equipping all cities in Sharjah with a modern environmental system that adheres to international standards.

According to Emirates News Agency, the project is set to shift focus towards integrated waste management, which is seen as a sustainable strategic move, moving away from the traditional waste disposal methods previously employed. Engineer Hussein Al Mazmi emphasized that this approach will maximize the benefits of sustainable waste management practices.

Al Mazmi, in statements to Sharjah 24, highlighted that the project is in alignment with the visionary goals of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The initiative is designed to protect the environment and conserve natural resources for the future. It also aligns with the UAE's legislative and regulatory frameworks, especially concerning waste management and the rehabilitation of unsanitary landfills.
