Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, received Stefania Gabriella Anastasia Craxi, Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in the Italian Senate, at his majlis in Abu Dhabi. Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, was also present.
According to Emirates News Agency, during the meeting, both sides discussed the robust friendship and bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Italy. They explored opportunities to further enhance relations in foreign policy, defense, economy, culture, and education, aligned with the mutual interests of both nations.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak expressed his pleasure at Craxi's visit, highlighting the historical ties between the UAE and Italy. He emphasized the UAE's commitment to building cooperation and dialogue with countries worldwide under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE-Italy relationship is seen as a successful model of partnership based on mutual respect and shared interests.
He acknowledged Italy's role on the international stage and stressed the importance of collaboration between the two countries to address global challenges, including climate change, food security, energy, education, youth empowerment, and the promotion of tolerance.
