Nahyan bin Mubarak Hosts Italian Senate’s Foreign Affairs and Defense Chair in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, received Stefania Gabriella Anastasia Craxi, Chair of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee in the Italian Senate, at his majlis in Abu Dhabi. Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, was also present.

According to Emirates News Agency, during the meeting, both sides discussed the robust friendship and bilateral cooperation between the UAE and Italy. They explored opportunities to further enhance relations in foreign policy, defense, economy, culture, and education, aligned with the mutual interests of both nations.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak expressed his pleasure at Craxi's visit, highlighting the historical ties between the UAE and Italy. He emphasized the UAE's commitment to building cooperation and dialogue with countries worldwide under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE-Italy relationship is seen as a successful model of partnership based on mutual respect and shared interests.

He acknowledged Italy's role on the international stage and stressed the importance of collaboration between the two countries to address global challenges, including climate change, food security, energy, education, youth empowerment, and the promotion of tolerance. The UAE is open to collaborating with global partners for a better future.

Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the deep cultural and civilizational ties between the UAE and Italy that extend beyond political and economic interests. He mentioned the importance of cultural and human understanding as the foundation of successful international relationships.

Stefania Craxi expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and praised the UAE's role in fostering international dialogue and promoting tolerance. She noted the UAE's progress in various fields and expressed Italy's eagerness to strengthen ties across multiple sectors.

The meeting also covered regional and international issues of mutual interest, emphasizing the need for dialogue and cooperation to address global challenges like security, stability, and sustainable development. Both sides stressed the importance of upholding international law principles and the rights of peoples to self-determination and dignified living.

The visit is part of the UAE's commitment to strengthening international partnerships and reinforcing its role as an influential global player, guided by principles of humanity, coexistence, and comprehensive development.
