Washington: NASA has revealed ambitious plans to establish a permanent base on the Moon, detailing the deployment of robotic landers, hopping drones, and vehicles. This initiative is a crucial part of the United States' strategy to build a lunar base.
According to Emirates News Agency, NASA's $20 billion program, announced in March, aims to construct a sustainable base at the Moon's south pole by 2032. The base will be powered by nuclear and solar energy. The development of the Moon Base will follow a structured timeline, unfolding over three phases beginning now and progressing until 2032 and beyond.
A permanent lunar base would enable the United States to conduct various scientific experiments, explore the potential for mining valuable resources, and facilitate future missions to Mars more efficiently.
