Nearly 1.9 Million Guests Flock to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque During Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr

Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre reported substantial attendance and activities during the Holy Month of Ramadan, drawing in nearly 1.9 million worshippers and visitors. A total of 1,890,144 individuals visited the mosque during this period, including the Eid Al-Fitr holiday.

According to Emirates News Agency, the mosque hosted 562,632 worshippers who performed prayers, with significant gatherings for Isha, Taraweeh, and Tahajjud prayers. Notably, 72,533 worshippers attended on the 27th night of Ramadan, and 26,025 participated in Eid Al-Fitr prayers. Over the Ramadan period, the mosque welcomed 391,011 visitors, and during the Eid holiday, 122,819 guests experienced the mosque's spiritual and cultural offerings.

The mosque saw a daily average of 11,240 visitors during Ramadan, with 289 guided tours conducted. Tourist companies made 6,774 bookings for 128,361 visitors, and 75 official delegations were arranged for 1,126 visitors. The Centre's call centre handled 4,436 calls, and daily prayers were broadcast live in partnership with Abu Dhabi TV, reaching a global audience.

A key initiative, "Our Fasting Guests," sponsored by the Zayed Humanitarian Legacy Foundation and in collaboration with Erth Hotel, saw the distribution of over 2.6 million Iftar meals throughout Ramadan. Additionally, 19,000 Suhoor meals were distributed during the last ten nights of Ramadan.

Visitors had the opportunity to experience the Ramadan atmosphere at the Dome of Peace and Souq Al Jami', featuring shops and restaurants. The Ramadan Market comprised 22 kiosks across the mosque's courtyards. The Centre also executed more than 11 initiatives, including hosting Ramadan lectures and producing the "Jusoor" programme.

The mosque hosted a blood donation campaign and distributed audio Qur'ans to commemorate Zayed Humanitarian Day. The Centre produced over 100 media pieces, leading to widespread coverage by more than 700 media outlets. The mosque appeared in over 3,600 news articles and social media posts globally.

The Centre acknowledged the contributions of over 580 volunteers from various teams and 20 governmental and private entities, ensuring seamless operations throughout Ramadan. Services were also extended to other mosques in Al Ain, Fujairah, and Ras Al Khaimah, reflecting a broad reach and commitment to the community during the holy month.
