The US National Weather Service predicted moderate to major coastal flooding for parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, accompanied by elevated water levels and high surf conditions.
Flight disruptions were significant, with 130 flights canceled at Boston Logan International Airport alone, based on FlightAware data. In response, major airlines offered travel waivers, permitting passengers to change their bookings without incurring additional fees.
New York Governor Kathy Hochul cautioned that storm impacts could worsen, with forecasts predicting rainfall of up to 15 centimeters in certain areas of Long Island and waves reaching nearly six meters.
