U.S. Special Envoy to Libya Ambassador Richard Norland and Chargé d'Affaires Berndt met yesterday with the Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul-Hamid Dbaiba. 'We discussed the importance of all Libyan stakeholders engaging constructively with the UNSMIL political process to remove remaining obstacles to elections, including the formation of a caretaker government,' Norland said in a tweet. Norland reiterated his country's support for Libyan efforts to unify security institutions, safeguard Libyan sovereignty, and reach national consensus on transparent and sustainable economic and budgetary policies.
