Oil Prices Increase by Over $1 as Gains Continue

London: Oil prices rose on Friday, extending recent gains. Brent crude futures for July increased by $1.19, or 1.08 percent, reaching $111.59 a barrel by 0149 GMT. Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate futures climbed by 39 cents, or 0.37 percent, to $105.46 a barrel.

According to Emirates News Agency, both benchmarks have recorded gains over four consecutive months. The Brent crude June contract, which expired on Thursday, peaked at $126.41 a barrel, marking the highest price since March 2022.
