Muscat: Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, stated that the increase in non-oil trade between the UAE and Oman signifies the robust relations between the two nations. He emphasized that these ties help both countries achieve their development goals and contribute to economic growth, facilitating long-term partnerships within their business communities.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr Al Zeyoudi's remarks were made during his official visit to Muscat, where he participated in the 'Advantage Oman Forum 2025'. The forum aims to spotlight future investment opportunities in emerging sectors. Oman remains the UAE's second-largest trading partner in the GCC, with non-oil trade between the countries reaching AED56.2 billion (US$15.3 billion) in 2024, marking a 9.8% increase from 2023 and a 32.4% increase compared to 2020.
Dr Al Zeyoudi highlighted that the UAE-Oman relationship exemplifies a strategic partnership between neighboring countries focused on prosperity and sustainable development. This partnership supports the aspirations of their peoples and enhances development on both sides. During his visit, Dr Al Zeyoudi met with Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Oman's Minister of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, and other senior officials to discuss strengthening ties and enhancing bilateral cooperation in beneficial areas.
The 'Advantage Oman Forum 2025', organized by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, explored the potential of the global investment environment, examined trends shaping the future of promising sectors, and identified new opportunities.
