Ankara: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, held talks with Hakan Fidan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, during their meeting in Ankara today. The discussions centered on enhancing the bilateral partnership between the two nations.
According to Oman News Agency, the ministers reviewed the overall cooperation between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the positive trajectory of their relations. They discussed the outcomes of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Oman in October 2025 and the subsequent understandings to strengthen their partnership.
The discussions emphasized maintaining consultations and coordination at various levels, including regular institutional communication and activities of the Omani-Turkish Joint Committee, which recently held its 13th session in Ankara. At the political level, the ministers exchanged views on regional and international issues, particularly developments in the Gaza Strip. They stressed the need for a permanent ceasefire and the unhindered flow of humanitarian aid, alongside supporting a political process for a peaceful settlement of the Palestinian cause.
The ministers also discussed developments in Syria, underlining the importance of stability and respecting Syria’s autonomy and territorial integrity. They noted that this would bolster security and stability in the region. Developments in Yemen were also addressed, with an emphasis on enhancing the political process for a sustainable settlement that preserves Yemen’s autonomy, unity, security, and stability.
Concluding their consultations, Sayyid Badr and Fidan held a press conference in Ankara. Sayyid Badr highlighted the strong bonds between Oman and Turkey, reflecting on the advanced level of cooperation following recent high-level visits and a shared vision to consolidate partnerships in political, economic, and investment fields.
Fidan praised the strength of Turkish-Omani relations and appreciated Oman’s constructive role in supporting dialogue and viewpoint rapprochement. He reiterated Turkey’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and joint coordination to support regional security and stability.
