Tripoli: The German Ambassador to Libya, 'Michael Unmacht,' expressed his hopes for holding legislative and presidential elections in Libya during the next year, describing this step as 'important and essential' for building stability and peace in Libya. 'Unmacht' said in a recorded message published by the German embassy through its account on the 'X' website, in which it congratulated the Libyans on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of Libya's independence, 'Two years ago, this date would have been an appropriate holiday for holding legislative and presidential elections in Libya,' referring to the timetable for the elections, which were scheduled for December 2021.
