Abu dhabi: The Higher Organising Committee of the Open Masters Games Abu Dhabi has signed a partnership agreement with the UAE Basketball Association. This collaboration is set to enhance cooperation between the two entities as they prepare to host the global event in Abu Dhabi in February 2026. The event is expected to draw thousands of athletes from around the world.
According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement was signed by Abdul Latif Al Fardan, President of the UAE Basketball Federation, and Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The primary goal of the agreement is to collaborate in forming teams that will participate in the event. This will be done in coordination with local clubs, sports academies, and resident communities in the UAE.
The agreement also covers the supervision of technical management for the competitions and the organization of referee participation. These measures aim to contribute to the success of the event and to strengthen Abu Dhabi's reputation as a premier destination for hosting international sporting events.
