Over 30 Israeli airstrikes hit Beirut’s southern suburb Saturday

Beirut's southern suburb endured its most intense bombardment since the beginning of the Israeli assault on Lebanon, with over 30 airstrikes hitting the area on Saturday. According to Lebanon's National News Agency, the southern suburb of Beirut experienced its most violent night, with strikes that could be heard throughout the city. Black smoke billowed over the suburb as airstrikes targeted various locations, including a petrol station on the airport road, a building in Barjaoui Street in Ghobeiry, as well as the areas of Al-Safir, Burj Al-Barajneh, Shuwayfat Desert, the American University neighbourhood and the surroundings of Marjeh, Lilaki, and Harat Hreik. The air raids were accompanied by Israeli reconnaissance planes and drones hovering over Beirut and its southern suburb. For the past two weeks, different areas of Lebanon have been subjected to intense Israeli shelling, leaving hundreds dead, thousands injured, and causing significant destruction to buildings, forcing over a million residents to f lee the affected areas.
