The State of Qatar participated in the 8th World Fatwa Conference “Fatwa and the Challenges of the Third Millennium,” organized by the General Secretariat for Fatwa Authorities Worldwide from Oct. 18-19.
The delegation of the State of Qatar was headed by HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) for Da’wah and Mosques Affairs Mohammed bin Hamad Al Kuwari.
The conference discussed a number of important topics and issues, according to three main axes, including the challenges of the third millennium: determining the areas and building methods of confrontation.” The second: “Fatwa and the intellectual and moral challenges.” The third axis dealt with: Fatwa, the economic challenges, and the challenges of cyberspace.” The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, was keen to participate in this conference, which highlights the importance of the role of Fatwas and religious and fatwa institutions in confronting the great challenges facing our contemporary world with all its repercussions, achieving a sublime Islamic message, spreading moderate centrist thought, correcting concepts and confronting extreme ideas.
