RAK Ruler and Guangdong Delegations Sign Hydrogen Energy Agreement

Ras Al Khaimah: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, received two government delegations from China's Guangdong Province, marking a significant step in international cooperation on hydrogen energy. The delegations, led by Bai Tao, Mayor of Foshan City, and Chen Jie, Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, engaged in discussions and witnessed the signing of a strategic agreement.

According to Emirates News Agency, the agreement was signed between Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) and Foshan Institute of Environment and Energy Technology (FIEET). This collaboration aims to advance technological, industrial, and application-chain innovation in the hydrogen energy sector. Signed by Esmaeel Hasan Alblooshi, RAKTA Director-General, and Professor Wang Ziyuan, President of FIEET, the agreement builds on a previous understanding reached during H.H. Sheikh Saud's visit to China.

H.H. Sheikh Saud emphasized the importance of sustainable and innovative energy solutions, stating that the agreement is a step toward expanding partnerships in technology, industry, and sustainable development. He highlighted Ras Al Khaimah's commitment to international cooperation, aiming for comprehensive and sustainable development in the emirate.

The discussions with the Foshan delegation covered potential areas for bilateral collaboration and investment opportunities. Mayor Bai Tao expressed gratitude for the hospitality and praised Ras Al Khaimah's achievements in economic and cultural fields. The agreement involves promoting hydrogen-powered public transport and developing green hydrogen systems, with a focus on joint research and industrialization of next-generation hydrogen technologies.

RAKTA Director-General Esmaeel Hasan Alblooshi remarked on the significance of the partnership with Foshan, aiming for a sustainable future through technology and industry integration. The collaboration seeks to support the hydrogen energy sector's growth in both the UAE and China.

In addition to the Foshan delegation, H.H. Sheikh Saud also welcomed a Guangzhou government delegation led by Vice Mayor Chen Jie. Discussions with Guangzhou focused on strengthening ties in sectors such as the digital economy, smart cities, and tourism, building on the existing Ras Al Khaimah-Guangdong agreement.
