Ras al khaimah: Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ) reported a significant expansion in 2025, welcoming 19,000 new companies into its business community. This represents a 44 percent increase in new registrations compared to the previous year, highlighting the emirate's attractiveness as a competitive base for global business operations. According to Emirates News Agency, the total number of companies operating within RAKEZ now exceeds 40,000, solidifying its status as a leading business hub in the region. The increase in 2025 was largely driven by services-related licenses, which made up 40 percent of new registrations. Commercial and trading licenses followed at 33 percent, while e-commerce maintained a steady growth at 17 percent. Prominent business activities registered during the year included general trading, e-trading of products and services, consultancies in project management, IT, lifestyle development, as well as services like marketing, commercial brokerage, document clearing, and building main tenance. This variety underscores RAKEZ's capability to accommodate diverse business models within a single integrated ecosystem. RAKEZ Group CEO Ramy Jallad remarked, "The strong growth we recorded in 2025 reflects the continued trust businesses place in Ras Al Khaimah as a destination where they can establish, operate, and scale efficiently. Welcoming nearly 19,000 new companies in a single year is a clear indication that our value proposition resonates with investors across sectors and markets." He further emphasized their commitment to providing a conducive environment for business growth, supported by streamlined processes and flexible solutions. The global reach of RAKEZ expanded in 2025 with India being the top source market, accounting for 33 percent of new companies, followed by Pakistan at 8 percent and the United Kingdom at 7 percent. Egypt and France also emerged as significant contributors to the investor base, highlighting RAKEZ's appeal across South Asia, Europe, and beyond. As RAKEZ builds on this momentum, it remains dedicated to offering adaptable solutions and a business-friendly environment to support companies in exploring new opportunities and pursuing sustainable growth in regional and global markets.
