Reem Al Hashimy Engages in Paris Talks on US Peace Plan Implementation

Paris: Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, represented the United Arab Emirates at a high-level meeting in Paris organized by the French Republic to discuss the implementation of United States President Donald Trump's peace plan.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, included foreign ministers from Egypt, Germany, Italy, Jordan, the United Kingdom, Trkiye, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, as well as the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and representatives from Canada, Indonesia, and Pakistan.

In her address, Al Hashimy acknowledged the leadership of President Trump and recognized the mediation efforts of Egypt, Trkiye, and Qatar. She noted the significance of the ceasefire and stressed the need for unity among regional and international partners to support President Trump's plan, with a focus on initiatives for transition, stabilization, and reconstruction in Gaza.

Al Hashimy elaborated on the UAE's humanitarian contributions to Gaza, totaling US$1.8 billion in aid since the war began. This aid includes essential supplies and medical assistance, hospital treatments for nearly 75,000 patients, and the operation of desalination plants providing clean water.

She also confirmed that the UAE is prepared to increase these efforts, with plans to extend water infrastructure, increase food production facilities, and enhance medical aid and shelter provisions in anticipation of winter.

Additionally, Al Hashimy participated in discussions with Arab foreign ministers and held bilateral meetings with counterparts from Egypt, France, Italy, Jordan, Qatar, and the United Kingdom.
