BUCHAREST: Romania won gold in the women's eight (8+) event at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, on Saturday, after dominating the final of the most important rowing event. The Romanian team, composed of Maria Magdalena Rusu, Roxana Anghel, Ancuta Bodnar, Maria Lehaci, Adriana Adam, Amalia Beres, Ioana Vrinceanu, Simona Radis, Victoria Stefania Petreanu, clocked in at around 5' 54", finishing by more than one boat ahead of Canada, the reigning Olympic champion, which clocked in at around 5' 58".
