Russian Air Defenses Destroy Ukrainian Drones over Kursk and Belgorod Regions

Russian air defenses shot down four Ukrainian drones over the Kursk and Belgorod regions in southwestern Russia. The Russian army foiled an attempt by Ukrainian forces to advance towards the southeast of the town of Sudzha in the Kursk region in southwestern Russia, and expelled Ukrainian forces from neighboring villages, inflicting heavy losses on them. The mutual attacks between Kyiv and Moscow have been ongoing since 2022, and even took an escalating path on Aug. 6, after the Ukrainian army announced that it had managed to penetrate Russian territory and advance kilometers in the Kursk border region, in a shift witnessed by the war between the two countries.
