The Russian Defense Ministry announced the liberation of a town in Donetsk, repelling eight attacks and eliminating 1,885 Ukrainian soldiers in the past 24 hours. In its daily report on the progress of the military operation in Ukraine, the Ministry said that during the past 24 hours, a town in Donetsk was liberated, eight counterattacks were repelled and 1,885 soldiers were eliminated. Additionally, 68 drones, a Su-2 aircraft and five missiles were shot down, along with nine ammunition depots, a tank and six infantry fighting vehicles. Ukraine had previously announced that the number of Russian soldiers killed and wounded since the beginning of the military operation had reached 574,690 soldiers. Russia and Ukraine have been continuously announcing, since the outbreak of the war between them in Feb. 2022, conflicting accounts of their losses, as each side seeks to highlight its superiority over the other.
