Abu Dhabi: H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, led a significant meeting of the UAE Anti-Drug Council attended by representatives from various ministries and agencies focused on drug combatting efforts.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting highlighted key developments in anti-drug initiatives and evaluated the results of the first quarter endeavors under the National Anti-Drug Strategy for 2025. The Council also introduced the slogan 'A Conscious Family. A Safe Society' for the UAE's observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, celebrated on June 26. This theme emphasizes the critical role families and communities play in protecting children and future generations.
The Council reiterated the importance of synchronized efforts and collaboration with relevant authorities, driven by national duty and dedication to safeguarding the UAE from threats to its security. This strategy is in line with the leadership's focus on placing individuals at the center of national priorities and tackling cross-border challenges to maintain societal values and secure a stable future.
Additionally, the Council called on all citizens to actively engage in the anti-drug campaign by reporting any helpful information, stressing that national unity is the strongest defense for protecting the nation and its citizens.
