Sharjah: Sheikh Salem bin Abdulrahman Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ruler's Office, attended the third graduation ceremony of the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) at the University City Hall in Sharjah. The event commenced with the UAE national anthem, followed by a speech from Dr Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the Academy.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr Al Hashimi expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his ongoing support of the Academy since its founding. She also thanked Sheikh Salem for honoring the graduates and congratulated them and their families. Dr Al Hashimi highlighted Sharjah's achievements in education and stated that the graduating class represents a vision for educational excellence.
The ceremony celebrated the graduation of 313 individuals from various academic programs, including teachers, school leaders, and early childhood specialists. Among them, 145 were from the Postgraduate Diploma in Education, 74 from the Master of Education in Educational Leadership, 28 from the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership, and 66 from the Certificate in Early Childhood Education. Notably, 28 graduates were part of the 'I Am Proud to Be a Teacher' program.
Dr Al Hashimi concluded her address by encouraging the graduates to serve as ambassadors of excellence and to support meaningful education. She urged them to embrace their roles as decision-makers and innovators in shaping the future of education in Sharjah.
Pauline Taylor-Guy, Chancellor of Sharjah Education Academy, also addressed the attendees. She congratulated the graduates and emphasized the Academy's role in preparing educators. She described the graduates as changemakers and future leaders in education, highlighting the Academy's vision for developing professional teachers through innovative programs and strategic partnerships.
Maryam Al Balushi, a graduate of the Master of Education in Educational Leadership program, spoke on behalf of the graduates, expressing their joy and commitment to their educational mission. She acknowledged the Academy's impact on their professional growth and pledged to uphold the values learned during their studies.
Sheikh Salem presented the graduates with their certificates and took commemorative photos. He also honored GEMS Millennium School Sharjah for its role in training SEA students under the "Guidance School" initiative launched in 2023.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of the Teacher's Oath, where the graduates pledged to uphold the values of the teaching profession and serve their students and homeland with sincerity.
